This specimen was lot 50443 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $335. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nurnberg. Taler, 1765-SR. PCGS Genuine--Cleaning, EF Details Secure Holder. City view." This type is one of several thalers (including Dav-2491 thru Dav-2495) issued in Nuremberg in 1765, all scarce to rare. This particular type was also issued 1768 and 1780.
