This specimen was lot 10289 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $460. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nurnberg. Taler, 1763-SF. PCGS AU-53. Toned." The imperial city of Nurnberg issued a considerable number of commemorative thalers in the 1750's and 1760's; this is one of the more common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
