This specimen was lot 50429 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $394. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Augsburg. Taler, 1765-IT-FH. NGC AU-55. Maria Theresa & Franz I (1745-65)." This, like most Augsburg thalers, is a one year type and fairly scarce. The bust of the Emperor indicates the city's fealty to him only and not the neighboring Duke of Bavaria or Bishop of Augsburg.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: Dav-1930; KM-184.
