This specimen was lot 679 in Jean Elsen price list 258 (Brussels, October 2011) where it was offered for €600 (about US$839). The catalog description noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, NUREMBERG, Ville impériale, AR Taler, 1629, Au titre de Ferdinand II. Droit : Trois écus dans le champ. Revers : Aigle impériale couronnée. Légère fin de plaque. Belle patine. Superbe. (Germany, free city of Nuremberg, silver thaler of 1629, in the name of Ferdinand II. Obverse: three shields in the field; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Traces of lacquer, nice patina, extremely fine.)"
