This specimen was lot 1065 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €320 (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NÜRNBERG, STADT Reichstaler 1629, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Feine Patina, kl. Fleck, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, fast sehr schön. (Germany, city of Nuremberg, thaler of 1629, in the name of Ferdinand II, fine patina, some stains, planchet flaws, nice very fine.)"
This type shows the fad for "chronograms," where the date (in Roman numerals) was buried in the obverse legend. This type is slightly scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
