Norway 1820 skilling
This specimen was lot 1427 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$125 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NORWAY, Karl XIV. Johann, 1818-1844. 1 Skilling Species 1820, Kongsberg. Gutes vorzüglich. Übliche kleine Stempel- und Schrötlingsfehler. (kingdom of Norway, Charles XIV John, 1818-44, one skilling of 1820, Kongsberg mint. Good extremely fine, With the usual dies and flan errors.)"
One specie daler was 120 skilling until 1873. Norway was under Swedish rule 1814-1907. This type was struck 1819-20, 1824-28, 1831-34. The 1820 is the most common date.
