This specimen was lot 3256 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY: Carl XIV Johan, 1818-1844, AE skilling, 1824, many small planchet flaws (typical), better date, mintage of only 6,000 pieces, scarce, VG-F." The SCWC lists this type for 1819-20, 1824-28 and 1831-34. Numista comments, "1824 overstruck most notably struck on ...1 Skilling 1771, 2 Skilling 1810, 12 Skilling 1813 and various Swedish ¼ and ½ Skillings." One specie daler was 120 skilling. This type was accompanied by a copper two skilling (KM 295).
Recorded mintage: 6,000, a very scarce date.
