from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11064

This specimen was lot 11064 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €264 (about US$275). The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. Skilling, 1664. Christiania mint. Frederik III. NGC MS-61. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1649-69 in many varieties. For 1664, the king's name was spelled "FRIDERIC 3" or "FRIDERIC III". One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
