Künker Auction 441, lot 5077

This specimen was lot 5077 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €4,400 (about US$6,053 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NORWEGEN, KÖNIGREICH Frederik III., 1648-1670. 1/4 Speciedaler 1649, Christiania. RR Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Sammlung Münzen und Medaillen aus adeligem Privatbesitz. (kingdom of Norway, Frederick III, 1648-70, quarter specie daler of 1649, Christiania mint. Very rare, handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This very rare type was struck 1649-51. It is not mentioned in Numista.

Specification: 7.18 g, 0.882 fine silver, 29 mm diameter, this specimen 7,07 g.
