North Peru 1839-L MB 8 reales

This specimen was struck in Lima for the short-lived state of North Peru. The plate coin in the SCWC shows the legend "EST. NOR-PERUANO," this specimen clearly shows "REP. NOR-PERUANA" (KM 164). The type was struck 1836-39 and is only somewhat scarcer than the regular issue. The complete span of Peru standing liberty eight reales runs 1825-55.
