Netherlands East Indies 1755 duit KM-70
This specimen was lot 33528 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Dutch Colony. United East India Company silver Duit 1755 MS65 NGC, Dordrecht mint. A gorgeous gem off-metal striking, fully lustrous with deeply-engraved details." This type was struck in copper 1726, 1730-37, 1742-57, 1764-72, 1776-93 and is cheap. It was also struck 1735-36, 1746-63 in silver. This example does not appear to have made it to the East Indies. Other provincial duits struck for the East Indies include KM 131, 132, 134, 136 (Westfriesland), KM 150, 159 (Zeeland), KM 111 (Utrecht) and KM 50 (Gelderland).
