This specimen was lot 75053 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES. Dutch East India Company. Holland. 1/2 Duit, 1755. PCGS SPECIMEN-45. An attractive specimen example struck in silver as a presentation piece, this off-metal example offers lightly handled surfaces and faint tone." This type was struck in silver 1755-63 and in copper 1749-54 and 1769-70. Utrecht was the only province to strike half duits (KM 112.1) for circulation in 1755.
