This specimen was lot 72583 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES. Dutch East India Company. West Friesland. Duit, 1755. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Very lightly handled, this deep brown specimen presents a solid strike and great originality." Westfriesland issued this type 1729-37, 1743-56, 1764-81, 1784-94. Besides Westfriesland, duits were made by Utrecht, Zeeland, Gelderland and Gelderland. Most dates are common. Silver presentation strikes exist but only for 1756 (KM 136a).
