Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3978

This specimen was lot 3978 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES: United East India Company, AE duit, 1756, VOC monogram within sprays on both sides, rooster mintmark on both sides, VF-XF." Most of the duits struck for the Netherlands East Indies were mintmarked with the various provincial arms (KM 131, 136 = Westfriesland, KM 152.3 = Zeeland, KM 70 = Holland) but this one was not. It was struck at Hoorn in Westfriesland.

Recorded mintage: 12,000.
