Netherlands 1937 2-5 gulden rev DSLR.jpg

The specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Utrecht mint for the Netherlands 1929-33 and 1937-40. Most of the dates are common but 1932 and 1938 have a "deep hair line" variety which is rare. The bust of Wilhelmina (r. 1890-1948) shown here first appeared on the ½ gulden of 1921 and was used until the end of WW II.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.

Specification: 25 g, 0.720 fine silver, .578 troy oz ASW, edge lettered GOD * ZU * MET * ONS *, designed by J. C Weinecke.

Catalog reference: KM 165, Dav-238, Sch-789.
