This specimen was lot 32340 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Naples. Felipe II of Spain 1/2 Ducato ND (1556-1598), VF. With 'GR/VP' to the left of the portrait." This type was struck for Philip II of Spain, he of the Spanish Armada. The Spanish ruled Naples until the death of the last Hapsburg in 1700. Numista attributes this type to the period 1564-71.
