Künker Auction 441, lot 4305

This specimen was lot 4305 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,339 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MÜHLHAUSEN IN THÜRINGEN, STADT 2/3 Taler 1676. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit herrlicher Patina, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 152, Osnabrück 2009, Nr. 6286. (city of Mühlhausen, two-thirds thaler of 1676. Very rare in this quality, very attractive example with outstanding patina, extremely fine.)"

The final third of the seventeenth century saw a profusion of issues of this denomination. This scarce type was struck 1676 only.
