Sincona sale 4, lot 4987

This specimen was lot 4987 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$4,257 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Milano Josef II. von Österreich, 1780-1790. Zecchino 1782. Belorbeertes Brustbild nach rechts. Rv. Gekröntes Wappen auf Palm- und Lorbeerzweig. Kl. Kr. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Duchy of Milan, Joseph II of Austria, 1780-90, zecchino or ducat of 1782. Obverse: laureate bust to right' reverse: crowned arms with palm and laurel branches. Hairlines, extremely fine to nice extremely fine.)"

The SCWC reports this type for 1781, 1782, 1784 with all dates noted as rare. The last ducat from Milan is dated 1788 and had an eagle reverse.
