Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 42785

This specimen was lot 42785 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Onza, 2018. Mexico City Mint. NGC REVERSE PROOF-69." The half ounce gold Libertad was introduced in 1982. This redesign appeared in 2000 and has been struck in small quantities since. This date is not listed in the SCWC, which has not added any new issues since 2014.

Recorded mintage: 1,250 plus 1,000 proofs plus 1,000 reverse proofs.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 29 mm diameter, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
