Stack's Bowers October 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 73269

This specimen was lot 73269 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Onza (Ounces), 2009-Mo. Mexico (Potosi) Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Tied for finest certified of the date with 23 other pieces on the NGC census. A handsome large-format issue with crisp frosted devices and hard mirrored fields. Aside from several small spots on the obverse the surfaces are free of tone, haze or fog." This type was struck in small numbers 1996-2024. The mintage shown here is unusually large.

Recorded mintage: 21,000 plus 5,000 proofs.

Specification: 155.5 g, 0.999 fine silver, 65 mm diameter, reeded edge.
