This specimen was lot 73268 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Onza (Ounces), 2008-Mo. Mexico (Potosi) Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Tied for finest certified of the date with 14 other examples on the NGC population report. A SCARCE middle date from this series exhibiting hard reflective fields with intricate frosted devices. Close inspection reveals a slight haze on the reverse in the protected areas of the reverse devices, otherwise free of tone or fog." This type was struck in small numbers 1996-2024. The mintage shown here is typical.
