This specimen is one of a type issued 2009-19 as part of the reform of the Mexican peso. It replaced an aluminum bronze version (KM 548) of 1992-2009. When it was introduced, one dollar was about three pesos; today (September 2025), US$1 = 18.4 pesos.

Recorded mintage: 164,362,000 plus 41,167,000 of KM 548.

Specification: 2.25 g, stainless steel, 15.3 mm diameter, plain edge.
