This specimen was lot 73260 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Onza (Ounces), 2000-Mo. Mexico (Potosi) Mint. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. Tied for third finest certified of the date with 4 other examples on the NGC census, only 11 finer (PF-68 Ultra Cameo [8] and PF-69 Ultra Cameo [3]) with a total of 19 certified in all grades. This semi key early date issue seldom appears on the market and should be considered very SCARCE. The surfaces are hard and reflective with sharp frosted devices. The mirrored fields do exhibit light spots with a bit of haziness and hints of tone on the rims mentioned for accuracy." This type was struck in small numbers 1996-2024. The mintage shown here is typical.
