This specimen was lot 73261 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Onza (Ounces), 2001-Mo. Mexico (Potosi) Mint. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. Tied for third finest certified of the date with 3 other examples on the NGC population, 16 finer (PF-68 Ultra Cameo [7] and PF-69 Ultra Cameo [9]). This semi-key date issue boasts crisp frosted devices with hard mirrored fields. A bit a tone is noticed on the obverse rims with a bit of haziness amongst the reverse design features mentioned for accuracy." This type was struck in small numbers 1996-2024. The mintage shown here is typical.
