In 2001, the production of the circulating ten pesos (KM 616) was interrupted to issue this ten pesos honoring the new millenium. Unlike the gringos, who celebrated in 2000, the Mexican government correctly issued this in 2001, as there is no year 0 in the Gregorian calendar.
Recorded mintage: 44,768,000.
Specification: 10.33 g, aluminum-bronze outer ring with copper-nickel center, 28 mm diameter, grooved edge.
