Mexico 2000 2 pesos

This specimen is one of a type issued 1992-96 as part of the reform of the peso in 1992 (one new peso = 100 old pesos). It was redesigned in 1996 to drop the "N" in "NS" and is still in production in that form (KM 604). Numista states that in 2025, the inner core was changed to bronze plated steel and is now magnetic.

Recorded mintage: 69,322,000.

Specification: 5.19 g, Bimetallic (aluminium bronze center in stainless steel ring), 23 mm diameter.
