Künker sale 386, lot 5843

This specimen was lot 5843 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €460 (about US$595 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MALTA, REPUBLIK, 20 Pounds 1975. Süsswasserkrabbe. 5,50 g Feingold. GOLD. Winz. Kratzer, polierte Platte. (republic of Malta, twenty pounds of 1975, fresh water crab. Proof, light hairlines.)"

This NCLT with the gondola obverse was accompanied by a similar coin with the Maltese arms on the obverse. Ten and fifty pounds were also issued on this occasion.

Recorded mintage: 5,698.

Specification: 6 g, 0.917 fine gold.
