This specimen honors the rhinoceros hornbill, a bird native to Malaysia, Indonesia and New Guinea. It is from a recent William Rosenblum sale (Littleton, CO, February 2012) and is a seldom seen type. An accompanying 500 ringgit (KM 21) honored the tapir.
Recorded mintage: 40,000 plus 8,008 proofs.
Specification: 35 g, 0.925 fine silver, 1.040 troy oz ASW.
