This specimen was lot 72436 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALAYSIA. 15 Ringgit, 1976. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Conservation series. Practically flawless, this superlative Gem depicts the Malaysian Gaur--the largest extant member of the bovine family. Majestic frosting and incredible brilliance create a splendid cameo nature." This NCLT was accompanied by KM 20 (25 ringgit) honoring the hornbill and KM 21 (500 ringgit) honoring the tapir. The guar (Bos gaurus) roams India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia.
