Majorca (1311-24) dobler
This specimen was lot 1508 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €80 (about US$104 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ESPAGNE, MAJORQUE, Sancho d'Aragon (1311-1324), billon dobler. D/ + REX MAIORICAR' B. cour. de f., entre deux étoiles. R/ + SANCIVS- DEI GRA Croix longue. Légère faiblesse de frappe. Très Beau. (Spain, kingdom of Mallorca, Sancho of Aragon, 1311-24, billon dobler. Obverse: crowned head facing between two stars; reverse: long cross. Lightly struck, Very Fine.)"
This ruler also issued a real de oro, real and diner. The Balearic islands were not reconquered from the Moslems until 1229-32.
