Sincona sale 64, lot 3406

This specimen was lot 3406 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,754 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Lucerne | Stadt und Kanton. Vierteltaler (10 Batzen) 1715, Luzern. 5 Zeilen Schrift und 1715. Rv. Sitzender hl. Leodegar, unten im Abschnitte * (1/4) *. Stempel unsigniert, jedoch von Hedlinger. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (city and canton of Luzern, quarter thaler or ten batzen of 1715, Luzern mint. Obverse: five line inscription and date; reverse: St. Leodegar seated, value below. Rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This type accompanied a thaler (KM 48, rare) and half thaler (KM 53, very rare).
