Sincona sale 9, lot 5437

This specimen was lot 5437 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$538 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Luzern Taler 1622. Kleines Zainende. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Lucerne, thaler of 1622. Slightly clipped, good very fine.)"

The SCWC notes this type for 1622 only. Thalers for Lucerne (or Luzern) are few and far between; the next issue was in 1698.
