Lowenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort 1767-LW kreuzer KM-59
This specimen was lot 5308 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €360 (about US$465 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÖWENSTEIN-WERTHEIM-ROCHEFORT, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1711 FÜRSTENTUM, Karl Thomas, 1735-1789. Ku.-1 Kreuzer 1767. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. (county of Lowenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort, Charles Thomas, 1735-89, copper one kreuzer of 1767. Scarce in this quality, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1767-69 along with KM 58, which has a monogram on the obverse. The prince of this insignificant state, Dominik Constantin, found his territory mediatized in 1806 and partitioned between Baden and Bavaria.
