This specimen was lot 23183 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "LATVIA. 100 Latu, 1998. NGC PROOF-67. An impressively preserve[d] commemorative issue that displays little contrast between the fields and the raised designs." Latvia recovered her independence in 1992 and coinage resumed in 1992. We can't tell what this coin commemorates.

Recorded mintage: 19,890.

Specification: 16.2 g, 0.999 fine gold, 24 mm diameter.
