This specimen was lot 73850 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL. 5 Agorot, JE 5724 (1964). Tel Aviv Mint. PCGS MS-62. A KEY DATE in the series, with the lowest mintage, this wholesome example delivers a sharp strike and good retained details. An impressive Mint State example of the type." Rapid inflation destroyed the value of the 1949 series and the coinage was reformed in 1960 to 100 agorot = one lira. This type of 1960-75 did circulate altho the JE5724 is scarce.
