The first specimen was lot 1126 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 3,100 CHF (about US$4,175 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Muzaffar al-Din Shah, 1313-1324 AH (1896-1907). 1000 Dinars 1319 AH (1901/1902 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Reeded edge. Extremely rare. NGC MS63. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 154. Finest certified by NGC."

The SCWC lists a 1000 dinars or one kran for AH 1318-1319 and 1322 but it has a lion obverse (KM 972). The second specimen was lot 43187 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $9,600. The catalog description[2] noted, "Lovely Mint State Pattern in Gold, IRAN. Gold 1000 Dinars Pattern, AH 1319 (1901/2). Brussels Mint. Muzaffar al-Din Shah. NGC MS-61. An EXTREMELY RARE Pattern in gold, for which we can trace only a few scattered examples previously selling at public auction. This example provides appealing details, with handling consistent for the grade. This lot provides the chance to acquire a type that may not resurface for years or decades. From the Genden Collection."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.61 g, 0.900 fine silver, the second specimen is 7.16 g.

Catalog reference: KM-Pn29 (for prototype in Silver).
