This specimen was lot 1077 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Muzaffar al-Din Shah, 1896-1907, AV 1/2 toman (5,000 dinars), Tehran, AH13018 (error for 1318), NGC graded MS63." This type was struck AH 1316 and 1318. Five thousand dinars equalled ½ toman.

Specification: 1.43 g, 0.900 fine gold.
