India 2010 2 rupees KM-401
This specimen was part of lot 2458 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), which sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA: Republic, 3-coin mint set, 2010(k), struck at the Kolkata Mint, commemorating the 19th Commonwealth Games in Delhi, including 100 (silver), 5, and 2 rupees, sealed in original booklet with paper sleeve; set of 3 coins." This type was struck at Kolkata, Hyderabad (star mintmark) and Noida (pellet). The new Rupee sign "₹" was adopted by the Government of India on 15 July 2010 and began appearing on notes and coins. The symbol had been "₨" heretofore. This set also included a 100 rupees (KM 417) and a five rupees (KM 391). As of July 2025, 2 rupees = US$0.023.
