This specimen was part of lot 2451 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), which sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA: Republic, 2-coin mint set, 2009(k), struck at the Kolkata Mint, commemorating 100th Anniversary of the Birth of the Tamil Politician Perarignar Anna (1909-1969), including 100 (silver) and 5 rupees, sealed in original booklet with paper sleeve; set of 2 coins." Wikipedia comments, "Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai (15 September 1909 – 3 February 1969), also known as Perarignar, was an Indian politician who was the founder and first general-secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam." This type was struck at Kolkata, Hyderabad (star mintmark) and Mumbai (diamond). The set also contained a 100 rupees (KM 412). As of July 2025, 5 rupees = US$0.058.
