This specimen was lot 22576 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1947-(L). NGC AU-58. A scarcer issue struck at the Lahore Mint. Sharply struck, nicely toned and quite attractive." This base metal issue was the last rupee of the Raj and the first issue of the Lahore mint, now in Pakistan. The Bombay mint contributed another 118,028,000.

Recorded mintage: 41,911,000.
