This specimen was lot 56587 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Anna, 1935-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. PCGS MS-63." This one anna was struck at the Calcutta mint as part of a type struck 1912-30, 1933-36. The denomination was introduced in 1906 and struck until the end of the Raj in 1947.
Recorded mintage: 12,952,000 plus proofs, a common date.
Specification: 3.80 g, copper-nickel, 21 mm diameter.
