This specimen was lot 3071 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: Edward VII, 1901-1910, AR rupee, 1908(c), attractively toned! PCGS graded MS65." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 at Bombay and Calcutta and most dates are common. Proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 20,218,000 from Calcutta plus 10,715,000 from Bombay.
Specification: 11.66 g, 0.917 fine silver.
