Hungary 1698-NB IB 1/6 ducat Fr-154
The first specimen was lot 33224 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "Leopold I gold 1/6 Ducat 1698 NB-IB AU58 PCGS, Nagbanya mint. A bright 1/6 Ducat with an amazing crispness of detail for a coin of its size. The lack of wear and significant luster make this specimen appear mint-state." The second specimen was lot 1798 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,975 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"HEILIGES ROMISCH REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. 1/6 Dukat 1698 NB, Nagybànya. Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. Unregelmässiger Schrötling. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, one-sixth ducat of 1698, Nagybánya mint. Rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Irregular flan.)"
The third specimen was lot 3829 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,837 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[3] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. 1/6 Dukat 1698, NB, Nagybánya. GOLD. R Min. gewellt, vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, one-sixth ducat of 1698, Nagybánya mint. Rare, slightly wavy, extremely fine.)"
This product of the Nagybánya mint was struck intermittently 1673-74, 1679, 1682, 1685-86, 1689-92, 1695-98.

Specification: 0.58 g, 0.986 fine gold, the second specimen 0.55 g, the third specimen 0.57 g.
