Sincona sale 69, lot 871

This specimen was lot 871 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"THE NETHERLANDS | Province of Holland. 2 Dukaten 1780. Vorzüglich. Leicht berieben. (Netherlands, province of Holland, double ducat of 1780. Extremely fine, lightly polished.)"

This type was struck 1749-93 with a reeded edge. It is much scarcer than the single ducat.

Specification: 6.98 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 7.00 g.
