This specimen was lot 25193 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Gold 2 Ducat 1781, MS63 NGC, old-time gold toning." This specimen was offered again as lot 22352 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $3,172.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "Holland. Gold 2 Ducats 1781, MS63 NGC, an attractive example with subtle patina and lustrous surfaces, scarce type in mint state." This type is recorded for 1749-93 and is much scarcer than the single ducats.

Specification: 6.98 g, 0.986 fine gold, .221 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
