This specimen was lot 3726 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $264.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands - Holland. Ducat, 1780. Knight standing. Reverse: Tablet with legend. NGC graded About Uncirculated, Details (Surface Hairlines)." Holland, along with several other Dutch provinces, issued gold ducats from the sixteenth century until the termination of the United Provinces by Napoleon in the 1790's. Double ducats also exist.
