Holland 1725 6 stuivers
This specimen was lot 75026 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. 6 Stuivers, 1725. PCGS MS-66. This enchanting issue is about as beautiful as the type comes, being the finest graded example of the date certified by PCGS. Sharply struck details are impressed on the lustrous and argent flan, making this piece wholly appealing." This scheepjesschelling was struck for Holland, a province of the Netherlands, 1701-02, 1705, 1708-37, 1745-63 and 1767. It is priced fairly low in the SCWC but is seldom seen at American coin shows, particularly in nice condition. These also occasionally turn up struck in gold.
