This specimen was lot 30167 in Heritage sale 3107 (Chicago, May 2023), where it sold for $14,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Provincial gold Duit (2 Ducats) 1723 MS65 NGC, Dordrecht mint. Struck with the dies for the contemporary Duit coins. An utterly spectacular Gem representative with ample die polish lines creating an energetic luminosity greeting the viewer. From the Coenen Collection." This type was struck in copper 1702, 1707-23, 1739-42, 1754, 1765-69, 1780 and struck in gold 1702, 1717, 1720, 1723, 1739-45, 1749, 1752, 1759. The gold issues were strictly for presentation and most survivors are in high grade. Off metal strikes in silver exist but not for 1723. The copper duit was one eighth of a stuiver.

Specification: KM 80: 3.84 g copper, KM 80b: 6.95 g, gold. This specimen is 6.99 g.
