This specimen was lot 2262 in Goldberg sale 122 (Los Angeles, June 2021), where it sold for $218.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Rijksdaalder, 1650. Armored bust right, holding sword and shield. Reverse: Crowned arms. Natural striking flaws. NGC graded AU-50." This type of 1606-93 evolved from the "prince's daalder" (Dav-8841) of the prior century. The type is listed fairly inexpensively in low grade but is very scarce in nice condition. These were generally weakly struck on bad planchets.
