This specimen was lot 10313 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hesse-Cassel. Taler, 1637-GK. NGC AU Details--Mount Removed. Wilhelm VI (1627-37). Toned. From the Demarete Collection." Davenport lists 13 different thalers (Dav-6757, -6759, -6760, -6761, -6762, -6763, -A6764, -6765, -6766, -6770, -6771, -6772, -6773, not counting double thalers) from Hesse-Cassel for 1637. This is one of the more common.
